Foster Homes Needed!

Foster Homes Needed!

It’s almost Kitten Season! We are looking for potential foster homes to help us through this busy time.
What does being a foster look like? You might get a mama cat and her babies, or a motherless litter of kittens – they may be friendly or they may be feral and not used to people. We tend to place the more challenging litters (ie. illness, special needs) with a seasoned foster home, but it is still a possibility that your kittens could get sick and fail to thrive. Fostering can be very demanding, but also very rewarding.

You will need to have a separate room in which to house the cats and kittens as you will need to keep them isolated from your own pets. You must demonstrate that your pets are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. You must have time available to care and socialize with the litter. You will need reliable transportation as you will be required to bring kittens to health checks. If you do not own your home, permission must be given from your landlord. The commitment time is 8-10 weeks. All members of your household must be in agreement.

Applications for foster homes will be reviewed and interviews (phone or video meeting) will be conducted. If selected you will attend an Orientation Session with our Foster Coordinator. LAWS provides everything you will need to care for the kittens.
